YouTube is everyone's first port of call when they want to search for online video.

While it might not be the best featured or even best quality service for video producers, it is by a long shot the most popular. If you are a blogger, marketer, film maker or any other kind of online publisher or entrepreneur, you stand to gain a lot by getting some exposure on YouTube.

But how do you get your content noticed, when there are 6.1 million videos for your audience to choose from? Certainly, there is no replacement for making or aggregating great content, but there are several ways that you can make your presence felt, and drive traffic back to your own website.

In this article on how to getting the best out of YouTube from a marketing perspective, I take you through an assortment of YouTube strategies and features that you can use to raise your profile

One thing you can do is upload your video into moviemaker and customize it and get really fancy. But even if it is raw it doesn't really matter. You are just starting out. You are going to need a title for your video. This is really important. You want to make your title catchy and that is going to attract people to want to watch it. Sometimes, and I know this sounds bad, you want make a negative title. Often negative titles are more attractive, and by that I mean like "company name" scam or "your name" scam, because that is usually what people are researching and it will catch peoples eyes. Sometimes the more negative, the more attractive it will be to people. You are going to think about what is going to attract the masses.

The first thing I like to put in a the description is a hyperlink. Basically what that is going to be is http://"yourwebsite".com. The reason you want to make it a hyperlink is because when people go that video they are going to this description on the right hand side. Be careful that you don't misspell so that you get a broken link. This link could go to your capture page or a blog. Just make shore it is a hyperlink. It needs to have http:// and that will make it a hyperlink.

In the description you can get really lazy or really creative. Most of the time I take the creative route and sometimes I am lazy. In the creative route you want to make as many keywords in this description to bring it to the top on YouTube. YouTube is just like Google where the keywords and specific title is really important.

One of the best tools I have found is the Microniche finder. This is an amazing tool and it cost only $100 one time and you can basically search how popular keywords are and you want to know that. You want to utilize keywords and you want to be specific on how things are spelled. You want to know what your audience is searching for and who are they searching for. How are they spelling it, what words are they tagging together.

You want to utilize people who are doing research on a person, a company or an industry. Find out things that are related to that.

I promise you it will be worth looking into what keywords are really popular so that your videos will come up higher on YouTube.
